indeed CoH isn't so fun 2 player.

Most played LAN games in my household are :

* Battle for middle earth II - Rise of the witchking

* Generals - Zero hour (old but still fun)

* Supreme Commander (decent, but needs mean PCs to run)

Descent - Free Space (* owns her fiancee on this one, old but very fast arcade type action and requires split second response and reaction)

Command and Conquer - Tiberian Sun series (* gets owned by her fiancee here as he worked, on the TS development team in 1999, also old, but a classic. C&C lost alot getting bought out by Electronic Arts when Westwood Studios folded and went to the c&c generals imho)

Both run on minimal pc's (anything over 200 or so mhz and 16mb ram )

we used to play Halo and NFS in university res all the time back in the day..

we ran Lans from 2 players all the way to up to 20 .. many games.. how ever none of them was as fun as halo..

Unreal tournaments was good too

lol about as dated as ours but, also probably a classic too.
Most we ever need on the LAN is 4 max sometimes, and just the 2 of us most of the time, few show interest in our obsessions and addictions (lol they think we are "ST obsessed" already and we tend to agree )
