You use it to research a bunch of other ships. Something like Advanced Field Theories or Leadership.
But the ships you research with it don't exist yet, so I suppose he'll invent those later.

he's right, i made the research, and i plan to make several follow-up ships that require it
(for those of you that are confused, string theory is the idea that everything in the universe is composed of tiny vibrating strings and the different frequencies the strings resonate at form different kinds of matter depending on the frequency.) |
